Mattias Thomas joined the club in the summer of 2006. Thomas was primarily a wing-back who could also play in midfield on either side was thought by many to be a decent capture by Pemberton. However although showing some talent down the flanks Thomas found himself on the treatment table after pulling a hamstring and then a hernia saw his chances limited. He left the club in 2007 after not having his contract renewed.
