League One: We Hate Ben 1-7 Abergeldie

An impressive first half performance was ruined by a dismal second half display against Abergeldie. A strong midfield pairing of Ross Pope and James Naik and a solid back line marshalled by Jay Harding kept Abergeldie at bay as We Hate Ben looked to hit back on the counter-attack. First WHB were hit by injuries to Lee Pemberton and Mattais Thomas which saw substitutions in the second-half before a serious injury to Mike Adams forced him to come off. With Naik forced to replace him the midfield began to disintergrate and tiredness all around saw five goals conceded in the second half, in the end a better display from the side which saw a superb goal by Pope and overall a much better and solid unit.

Starting 11

1. Adams [7] A solid display and one excellent save before being carried off.
15. Thomas [6] Solid until injury forced him to limp off.
8. Townsend [7] Good game from the fullback until exposed by midfield errors
17. Thompson [6] Good debut and partnership with Harding looks strong
6. Harding [6] Usual steely self until injury which forced him off
2. Dodsworth [6] Rarely got into the game as play came down the left, one glaring miss
7. Naik [7] Excellent first half, but looked shaky in goal
4. Pope [8] Another fine performance, excellent goal
11. Harvey [7] Worked socks off, few chances
3. Pemberton [5] Struggled, came off with an injury
18. Harman [7] Impressive debut, looked good down the left, linked well with Pope

Subs

12. Cooper [4] Didn't have much time, looks out of depth
13. Cross [4] Not enough time to perform
9. Court [6] Played well, needs to hold up ball better
5. Warren [5] Okay despite playing at right fullback
