Former player and fan favourite John Warren has spoken to the media today after hearing that friend and former team-mate Chris Townsend had broken his two-year joint appearance record. John had the following to say:
"During my time with We Hate Ben FC I developed some very close relationships with certain members of the playing staff. I was very proud to have been involved with the team and was delighted to hold the joint appearance record, with Christopher Townsend, for as long as I did. Unfortunately changes in my personal circumstances dictated that I could not add to my record and Christopher has subsequently added to it and now holds the record out right. If anyone deserves to hold this record it is Christopher, his hard work and serious attitude toward training are second to none. I would also like to express my congratulations to Jason Dodsworth who is also set to surpass my record in the coming weeks. I look forward to coming to watch We Hate Ben whenever I can and having bedtime bonding just like when we playing away from home together. Best wishes in the new season!"
