League Two: We Hate Ben 1-6 Sexual Harassment Pandas

We Hate Ben slumped again to lose their second league match on the bounce to a fellow title challenger. With Sex Panthers and Y Geltaidd facing off in the Aberystwyth Town Cup this was the perfect opportunity for both teams to pile on the pressure and SHP grabbed it with both hands.

WHB began the match slowly and although the game was tight it didn't take long for SHP to start to show why they were favourites. Some good build up play added to some defensive frailties brought them two goals, and these errors were strewn throughout the match. James Peate offered the team some hope with a good finish to halve the deficit and could have equalised if his attempted lob hadn't sailed over the bar. Two more defensive mix-ups between WHB goalkeeper Liam Weaver and the defence saw SHP go into a three goal lead before a fifth was added before half-time which put the game to bed. A shot was well parried by Weaver but found its way into the net. Weaver and the defensive line set had a torrid first-half but improved as the match went on. The Captain and Chris Webster put in good individual performances but as a unit struggled to cope with the Pandas' strike force. They however were not helped by a midfield that struggled to dominate proceedings from start to finish and James Naik's changes in formation to try and get something from the game left it more open.

The second-half saw a much improved performance and in particular the performance of Man of the Match Matt L'argent was good. Debutant Scott Thomas also looked promising and will help the teams attacking options no end. The second-half was goalless for a lot of the time but did have some moments. A penalty appeal for handball and a free-kick from the Captain which hit the wall could have seen more goal-scoring opportunities but it was not to be. SHP rubbed salt into the wounds when they scored a sixth goal that put the final nail into the coffin of the SoccerJoo's title challenge.

When James Naik was asked about the defeat after the match he responded with: "I am disappointed with the result but knew it would be hard to beat a side as strong as Pandas'. I am however very upset with the performances in particular of some players and the lack of cohesion that seems to be upsetting the balance of the side. It is now up to myself and the players to pick ourselves up after this horrendous defeat and make sure we start picking up wins again, we need some bouncebackability. It is also important to note that we are now looking to win four out of the next five games, as I am worried that finishing in the top four may be slipping away from us."
