Players on the move

The summer's transfer activity began this week with a player leaving the club and rumours of more to follow. The first player to leave so far is Goalkeeper Liam Weaver after his contract ended. It is believed that Weaver will now look for a club in England. Weaver became the fourth highest appearance maker in his second season and scored his first goal for the club with a penalty against Gigolo Warriors.

The rumour-mill also concerns itself with the futures of many other players including Michael Jones, Iain Giessler, Paresh Bodalikar and Ross Harvey.

After an impressive first season where Jones became Top Goalscorer after he scored seven goals, an injury and resulting operation saw him only make a few starts this year, his final game coming with a commanding performance in the ADL Trophy. Jones was a leader and will be missed.

Giessler joined the club at the same time as Jones and made a decent impact but saw his chances somewhat limited this season, Gisssler has decided the time is right to move on.

Senior Player Of The Year 08-09 Paresh Bodalikar fancies a move to England also and after a excellent first season the former Punjabi man will move on next month, much to the disappointment of the fans.

Ross Harvey will also leave after deciding to move to England too, although he did not make much of an impact in his only season, he was a committed squad player and brought battling qualities to the side.

Also believed to be leaving next month are winger's Sean Mack and Joe Scott. Mack was a regular starter this season but missed the final stages after a foot injury. Mack was offered a new deal but is believed to be joining a club in the Netherlands. Scott made only two substitute appearances this season and it is believed that he will not be offered a new deal.

On the upside it is believed that Nick McSmith will sign a new deal, and the club have been linked with forward Dave Daniels of Gigolo Warriors, a player coveted last summer. Another player being linked is Aber S.P.O.T.S centre-back Cei Whitehouse.
