Naik steps down, MacDonald takes over

We Hate Ben have announced that long-term manager of the club James Naik has stepped down from the role, after the guiding the club to its most successful ever season. Naik took over the club after Lee Pemberton stepped down in the summer of 2007 and took the team to league finishes of 7th and 4th over the two years, the ADL Trophy Semi-Final and made the ADL Aberystwyth Town Cup Quarter-Finals. Naik even managed to win the club's first ever piece of silverware, winning the ADL Consolation Cup. Naik will now focus on his playing career, after making his first appearance in over two years in the Consolation Cup.

Pemberton, knowing for a while now that a new manager would be needed after Naik announced his intention before the ADL Trophy Semi-Final, has appointed Alex MacDonald to take over the reigns. MacDonald is a defender who has been at the club for two years. MacDonald was recommended to the board by outgoing manager Naik, for his commitment and attitude to the club over this period. Although MacDonald may have a tough act to follow, particularly as key players are leaving this summer, but everyone at the club believes he is the right man for the job and hope he will take the club even further during his tenure.
