We Hate Ben were victims of a single lack of concentration that turned out to decisive in the match. A side missing two key players still managed to put in an impressive performance but could not find the equaliser in a match of few chances.
Nathan Leach returned between the sticks while Adam Smith, Matt L'argent and Adam Roberts also returned to the side. They started with a 4-1-4-1 formation and looked solid throughout, despite the changes and absence of the club captain. The lack of goalscoring threat with James Peate out was apparent, as the handful of chances that were created were not converted.
A difficult pitch also caused problems, and the spillage of a free-kick from Leach and the failure of the defence to react quick enough caused the conceding of the only goal. However, that one mistake saw the team galvanised and pressure was piled on late in the second half to no avail.
