L'argent announces transfer plans

With a new season fast approaching speculation has been rife with rumours of potential new arrivals to the We Hate Ben 'family'. At a cagey press conference Matt L'argent was quizzed about a number of transfer stories, and he made the following statement. “There are a couple of avenues being explored but I'd rather not be too specific with names until deals can be finalised. In the long term I'd like to bring in some unattached youngsters as it's the new players who are going to be essential to the continued success of We Hate Ben. The short term priority for myself and the management team is to add to the strike force as I feel that was the biggest difference last season between us and the few teams. It's important that we find a natural goal scorer who can give us a clinical edge in those tight games.”

L'argent was then asked whether he was concerned by the departure of last seasons top two scorers James Peate and Hywel Williams, L'argent responded in an upbeat manner, “It's a blow to lose a player of Hywel's quality as it would be for any team and James' goals in the past two seasons have been invaluable, but the time was right for them to move on and it's now up to the current squad of players or any new arrivals to step up to the mark.”
