We Hate Ben player/manager Matt L'argent has today called for his side to to build on the improved performance against Glengower and get their first win since the beginning of February in the ADL Consolation Shield on Friday morning.
The cup tie has taken on great importance since league performances slipped recently and the team may now struggle to gain the top four place needed to go into the play-offs. The Consolation Cup currently represents their best chance of silverware and a good performance and victory could improve fortunes in the league.
L'argent said "After the defeat to Inter Yournan it was almost as if we had to start from scratch again. The defeat to Glengower was a setback but whilst we didn't get the result we wanted, we had the right attitude and a good level of commitment. We need to take that level of performance into the games against Gwatch and Beaver and if we were do that there is absolutely no reason why we shouldn't get the results to match the effort that we're putting in. We have quality players in every position who would walk into pretty much any other teams in this league. Although we haven't won in a few games it's not as if we're playing badly, all we need is to get that one result to get our season back on track. Once we get that win I'm sure that more will follow."
A We Hate Ben win would see them face one of Bayer Diamonds or Inter Yournan in a semi-final tie and if the latter win their tie then WHB will have a chance of redemption before a possible final.
