We Hate Ben found themselves on the end of a shock hammering by new ADL side Inter Yournan after going three goals behind in the first twenty minutes due to a lack of concentration in defence and a debatable handball decision.
We Hate Ben lined up in a 4-4-2 formation with Ronnie D'sa moving to left-back to replace missing player-manager Matt L'argent and Jason Dodsworth returning to right-back. The rest of the team continued from the previous cup victory against FC Beaver. Nathan Leach and Jack Kelly were still missing from last week and Louis Robertson was unavailable.
In the first few minutes, a ball that was failed to be cleared by the defence ended up being struck past Stuart Fleming from twelve yards. A second goal was scored soon after after the defence again failed to clear and an onrushing Fleming couldn't get there in time to save. The third was scored from a corner - but not without controversy. A handball in the buildup, where the corner was headed back across goal and looked to have been controlled with an arm before being smashed but was unfortunately missed by the referee. Fleming who looked to be struggling with an ankle injury, was replaced by debutant Alexis Koumides. WHB looked to get back into the game and Ian Hanmore-Farrugia looped a ball over the top to find Jay Walker, who lobbed the goalkeeper for his fifth goal of the season. WHB continued to press but struggled keeping hold of the ball in midfield and with no decent service Dave Turvill and Walker struggled on and WHB conceded again before the break - going in 4-1 down.
No changes were made at half-time and WHB again tried to push on and look for the early goal to launch a comeback, having 2-0 down against FC Beaver knew they were capable of getting back into it. The side improved after the break but were hit on the counter when a fifth was conceded. WHB started to gain a little momentum.as Dave Norbury headed in a Hanmore-Farrugia corner - his second assist. Andy Rhodes and Chris Charnley came on and helped press matters but a poor tackle in the WHB area saw a penalty given which despite Koumides going the right way couldn't be kept out and the defecit returned to four goals with Inter Yournan 6-2 up. More substitutions and a formation change to 4-3-3 then 3-4-3 with Michael Jones, James Amos, Dan Johnson and Adam Grosvenor coming on couldn't change things and with the side attempting to chase the game Inter Yournan hit on the counter-attack three more times and gave the scoreline a more flattering finish. WHB will have a lot to do to get back to winning ways in the next game but will look forward to getting back on the pitch and putting this result behind them.
As Matt L'argent was away for this game, there were no post-match comments.

How you can say the result was flattering them is beyond me, as a spectator, you were outplayed on all areas of the park, by what was simply a better and stronger side, you managed just 3 attempts on goal all game, 2 on target, good goal to attemp ratio, but their defence was just too strong.
ReplyDeleteIt doesn't say the result wasn't deserved, just that the extra three goals were the cherry on a well-iced cake.
ReplyDeleteI, (Ian Hanmore-Farrugia) fed in Jay for his goal it was not Ryan, I got 2 assists god damn it!
ReplyDeleteLets all take this as seriously as we possibly can
