The Aberystwyth Digs League have today announced plans for this seasons Consolation Cup. The tournament will be played on Blaendolau on the 15th May, kicking off at 1.30pm. The tournament starts off with a first round group stage, with four teams in each group playing each other once. The two group winners will then play each other in the final. The matches are thirty minutes each using standard ADL rules and the winners will play a total of four matches. The competition was started two years ago when We Hate Ben beat Magic Men 3-1 in the final. Current holders ATFC Lions will be present this season having qualified through league placement.
The eight teams currently expected to feature are (teams may change after final league fixtures on 11th May):
Super League: We Hate Ben, FC Beaver, Arcelona
Champions League: ATFC Lions (holders), Unbelievable Tekkers, AFC Barstuds
Premier League: Pathetic Athletic, Geltaidd.
A preview of the tournment will be available after tomorrow's final league matches.
