Key defender James Phillips has been sidelined by a an unfortunate muscle injury, which occurred away from the training ground. Phillips 19, has made an impressive start to his We Hate Ben career since joining earlier this summer and will be a big loss for Sunday's important league fixture with Pathetic Athletic.
Phillips is a keen rugby player in his time away from the football pitch, but it is believed manager Chris Webster will be unimpressed that the injury was gained outside of football-playing duties. Phillips said "It is difficult to tell how long I'll be out for, but it could be 2-3 weeks. I'm hoping to to be back playing sooner than that though, but I will rest for the moment to ensure I don't do more damage and cause a longer lay-off."
Phillips is keen to return for the next cup match, the date of which will be scheduled once the remaining cup games in the first round have been played. We Hate Ben have a league match currently scheduled towards the end of November, which may be a good target for him and fellow sidelined player Andy Rhodes, who has an ankle injury. Phillips continued "I'm absolutely gutted that I'm missing the game (against Pathetic Athletic), especially after how we played against Balls Deep. We looked sharp and this should be a game where we can get a good solid result. I hope the guys go out there and deliver a performance, but I hope they don't underestimate the other team!"
