Johnson wants to stay for a fourth season

Utility man Dan Johnson has stated his desire to remain at the club for a fourth season, joining the likes of Jason Dodsworth, Stuart Fleming, Chris Webster, Ross Pope, Ben Court, James Naik and Peter Thomas in playing for four years or more.

Johnson, who began as a striker but has since been used in several positions stated: "I have been at this club for three years and have thoroughly enjoyed every minute I've been here, from playing in important league and cup matches to participating in our annual Oldboys game, I would love to play another season as I feel I still have much to achieve at this club before I finish".

Johnson, who has played nineteen times for We Hate Ben and is hoping to finish on twenty-two this season should the team make the Shield Final feels he still has much more to contribute and said "I’m happy to continue featuring in games, whatever position I end up playing. If I had to choose something, it would probably be to improve confidence whilst playing.  Also, it would be nice to get a third goal, even if it’s a sneaky one like I scored 2 years ago vs Obi Wan [Kenobi Nil]".

Finally Johnson 21, had this to say about his increasing presence as a senior player; "...this season is very different to last season: Firstly, being one of the older players, there’s more responsibility involved, not just in games, but off the pitch too". Johnson continued "Secondly, we’ve got a much smaller squad, and although we may have had a bigger squad in previous seasons, we've been able to rely on the quality we have in the team rather than on the bodies available. I am proud of what we achieved this season, hopefully it can continue, possibly leading to a trophy win."
