Lee Pemberton steps down as We Hate Ben Chairman

Today is a sad day for We Hate Ben as Chairman of six years Lee Pemberton, stepped down from the role in order to concentrate on his Chairman role at Birmingham-based club, The Wingjobs.

Pemberton 26, started his We Hate Ben career as player-manager and was also one of the founding members back in 2006. Starting his career as a Forward before moving back to full-back and now also starring as a centre-back for The Wingjobs, has been a major factor in the clubs success and growth over the last few years. The Wingjobs also feature some other ex-WHB players including Jason Dodsworth, Jack Thomas and Stuart Fleming.

"Pembo" as he is known by most, has been a constant presence at all major We Hate Ben events over the last six years, being an Oldboys regular and was a part of the side that travelled to Portugal last year and will be when the club returns this year.

His influence in the boardroom will be sorely missed but Pemberton will become a non-executive Life President and will hopefully continue to take part in all major events.

Pemberton has stated that James Naik would be his preferred choice to take over the role, but as of yet no announcement has been made regarding Naik's future. Naik currently holds the Director of Football position having left the clubs playing side in 2012.

All at the club would like to wish Lee Pemberton and The Wingjobs all the best in the future.
