Highly-rated goalkeeper Weaver joined the club on a free transfer in 2007. Weaver immediately proved to be a talented goalkeeper with his performances in training and friendlies and became first-choice. His solid and sometimes heroic performances between the sticks not only earned him Players' Player Of The Year in the clubs own awards, but also won the ADL Goalkeeper Of The Year, making the only We Hate Ben player to have won an ADL award. Weaver's second season did not quite reach the heights of the first but he did score his first goal and was one of the more consistant performers. He is now the fourth highest appearance holder, but has now left the club after his one-year deal ended.
