Matt L'argent

DOB: 03/03/89 (Age 21)
Born: Shrewsbury
Nationality: English
Position: Full-back
Number: 3

Left-back Matt L'argent joined the club in September 2009. L'argent has shown himself to be a tough dependable left-back and will probably be first-choice now Chris Townsend has departed. L'argent won the Best New Signing Award and should be expected to become a Key Player next year. L'argent became player-manager after James Naik's decision to step down, and after winning Player's Player Of The Year it seems a wise decision to have selected him for the job. L'argent has added scoring goals to his already excellent array of abilities this season. Despite a low-key end of the first and final season as player-manager, L'argent couldn't get the silverware he wanted to end his WHB career on a high. An amazing footballer and probably the best player to have ever played for the club in it's first five years, winning Players' Player Of The Year and Goal Of The Season at the end of 2010-11 to add to his already impressive array of trophies. A huge loss to the club after three years service, having left to return to England to further his career.
