Fan favourite Alastair England has today announced that he will be leaving the club after having his request for his contract to be mutually terminated accepted. Striker England, who scored two goals for We Hate Ben in his ten appearances for the club last season has this to say about his departure.
"It is with the greatest regret that I have to leave the club but I felt a move south was better for both me and my family. I would like to thank the management, particularly James Naik for bringing me to the club, my teammates and the fans who have made my stay here so memorable. I thoroughly enjoyed my time here and hope that everyone remembers by contribution to the team and my goals, and that maybe one day in the future I can return. I wish everyone here all the best for the future."
The twenty-four year-old also had a parting remark for some his teammates.
"... And although its not the right place to mention it, I am also waiting for payment on five favours I gave out last season to certain players. Without mentioning names, Chris (Townsend), Chris (Webster) and Stuart (Fleming)..."
England will be missed by all at the club and we would like to wish him all the best for the future.
