James Naik quits managerial role

In a move that had been mooted for some time, long-serving player and manager James Naik has resigned as manager for the second time in two years.

After taking control of the club after Alex MacDonald's resignation back in February, Naik guided the side to another highest league placing of fourth while bagging their highest points total along the way. The team then managed to make the final of the ADL Shield, losing out 2-1 to On The Pier.

Matt L'argent has been named as Naik's successor, with all parties considering the move to be a fantastic choice. L'argent was named Player's Player Of The Year in this seasons annual awards ceremony so is believed to be a popular choice.

Naik will remain at the club as a player and will move upstairs in a Director Of Football type role but will have no particular say in how the playing side of the club will be run, preferring to be on hand to offer any advice should it be needed. Naik is a big fan of L'argent and is happy to have had his suggestion verified by club chairman Lee Pemberton.

Another long-serving player and the club's assistant manager for the last two years Jack Thomas and coaches Matt Sermon and James Peate are also believed to be leaving meaning that L'argent will be able to name his own staff once he takes over the club officially tomorrow, due to the ending of contracts.
