We Hate Ben FC's new captain Chris Webster today spoke of his ambitions for the team ahead of the new season. Twenty year-old Webster, is eagerly awaiting to get back to Aberystwyth and begin training and make his mark on the new side. "I am really excited to lead out this great group of lads next season. I have always enjoyed playing for We Hate Ben FC, and it is undoubtedly the best club of my career thus far. The club has such a friendly atmosphere and it feels more like a family than a football team." Webster also spoke about his surprise at receiving the captaincy, saying "I never expected to be handed the captains armband so quickly since joining but it is a huge honour to take over the captaincy of this fantastic club from fan favourite and club legend Darrell Rees."Webster went on to outline his dream for the new season, "My only hope is to try and achieve the same level of success the club enjoyed under his captaincy, and working alongside our new manager Matt L’argent we can hopefully bring more success to the club than the fans have ever seen before. This is an exciting period in the history of We Hate Ben FC and I honestly believe we could be on the brink of something special here. We have all the foundations for success such as talented players, great management staff and undoubtedly the best fans in the Aberystwyth DIGS League. I believe this club should be challenging right for silverware on all fronts. "I can promise the fans that my whole heart is in this club and I strive to add more silverware in the club's trophy cabinet in future years to come."
Webster then finished by explaining that he is enjoying being captain saying "I am looking forward to wearing the armband next year" but also enjoys the extra pressure that comes with being club captain of a successful side. Webster stated "With all this in mind it makes the role of captain even greater. It will be a role that I believe I will grow into and hopefully I can do all the fans of this great club proud by leading the lads to success on the pitch." He goes on to say his "first priority is to start the season well myself" and he "hopes to pick up my form from last season and build a solid partnership with whomever Matt L'argent decides to pair with me at centre-back this year."
