We Hate Ben boss Matt L'argent said he hopes Adam Edgerley could be playing again before too long following an injury during pre-season trainingThe midfielder, 22, suffered significant ligament damage to his knee and will consult a specialist on Monday.
There had been initial fears that the Englishman would miss the whole season,
but L'argent said: "You can never be 100% although it is a bad injury. We will just have to wait and see what happens on Monday but it doesn't look like he'll be out for the whole season which is at least better than we first thought.”
Edgerley was carried off during a pre-season training match after going down under an innocuous-looking tackle from one of his own team mates.
L'argent added, "You always fear when you have a good player out of your team it is going to be a loss, but having players like Matt Davies, Richie Shore and David Norbury, plus any youngsters who are bought in means we have options.”
"Adam had a great season last year. He's been a great signing for us who has been improving all the time. It is a blow losing good players and the whole club wishes him a speedy recovery but in the context of the kind of squad we have, I hope we will be able to cope with it."
