New league structure revealed

The Aberystwyth Digs League have announced that they have changed the league structure for the upcoming season. Due to an increase in teams the league will now consist of three eight-team divisions, which will run in parallel.

Once the league season is completed the teams will then face each other in a play-off competition, it is not currently confirmed how this will operate, as in previous years the top two of the two divisions competed for the ADL Champions Cup, third and fourth from each went into the ADL Shield, while fifth and sixth contested the ADL Plate. With an extra two teams from the additional third division the play-offs will have six teams competing for each trophy, while the Wooden Spoon would contain three teams.


The three divisions, currently titled 'Super League', 'Premier League' and 'Champions League' will also carry the sponsorship name of The Don, and league placings will be drawn on Friday 5th November and will take place at the Aberystwyth Student Union. The Aberystwyth Town Cup Second Round and the Consolation Shield First Round will also be drawn at the event.
