New We Hate Ben manager Chris Webster today spoke about his plans for the club since taking over from Matt L'argent. Webster 21, has been in charge for a few weeks and is currently working hard with his backroom staff to find players for the upcoming season, and plan for preseason in September.
Webster said "Firstly, I would like to say how proud I am to take charge at the club I love and have been honoured to play for. I have been here for over three years now and this club is a huge part of me and no doubt I will be putting in even more effort and hard work into this club. One of the best things about this club is the great squad harmony we possess and keeping that atmosphere is my key issue for the upcoming season."
Webster continued "Whilst I intend to bring in quality players to compliment the playing staff we currently have I believe it to be important that the harmony at this club is not disrupted. It will be hard taking over from a great manager such as Matt [L'argent], but I feel I have learnt from him over the last year and can add my own touches to the wonderful squad he has already built here." Webster then spoke about replacing key players "Although I am pleased with the basis of the squad we currently have, I will be looking to strengthen in certain areas and replace key players. I will primarily be using the the free transfer market to add to the squad, where my priority will obviously be replacing the big players we have lost. Players of the calibre of Adam Edgerley, 'Big' Dave Turvill, and both Matt Davies and the former gaffer L'argent will need to be replaced with quality.. In addition to that I will look to strengthen other areas with a main focus on attackers and a goalkeeper. Losing Nathan Leach has been a blow but while Stuart Fleming is an admirable stand-in, his preference is to play outfield and I will need him to help me as much as possible in his role as assistant manager in the upcoming season."
Finally Webster said "Lasty I would like to wish the best of luck to all of my players for the forthcoming year and look forward to working closely with my captain and vice captain David Norbury and Rhys Jones, and together I hope we can drive this great club on to greater things."
