We Hate Ben begin pre-season next week and will take on a group of trialists in order to bolster the squad for the upcoming campaign.
We Hate Ben currently have 22 players on their books but with current injuries and other commitments they will look to add cover and quality in key positions.
We Hate Ben are looking in particular to recruit a goalkeeper, having had problems with that position for the last couple of years, but also want strength in depth in other positions. Manager Chris Webster, who embarks on his first managerial stint but fourth season at the club, is more than aware of the challenges faced by a club during the season and wants to build a side capable of challenging for honours this season and in the future.
Webster said, "Although we have 22 players already, three are currently out with long-term injuries, and a third will not be able to play in every match this season due to other commitments. We do not have a first-team goalkeeper, and we need some extra bits of quality in the side to be able to challenge for honours."
Webster continued, "The lads who are coming in on trial will be looked at and I expect a fair few of them will be offered contracts, as I believe they will be good additions. I want some quality additions but I also want players who will make a difference in the dressing room, players who will fit nicely into the atmosphere we have at the club. One of the main things on my mind will be to not disrupt the harmony we have in the team at present, as well as finding those extra pieces of the puzzle to make us more competitive and push on."
