We Hate Ben announce squad numbers

We Hate Ben have issued their list of squad numbers for the 2011/12 season. The list contains 22 players in total and will be added to over the next couple of weeks as Manager Chris Webster finalises his squad for the upcoming season.

New signings James Phillips, Jordan Watkins, Phil Bridgman and Rhodri Lloyd-Evans wil wear 9, 16, 15 and 99 respectively. Several players have switched numbers, while 1, 2, 18, 19, 20 are still free.

Louis Robertson has some big boots to fill after taking the number 3, previously worn by the likes of Lee Pemberton, Chris Townsend and Matt L'argent. Jack Kelly takes number 6, worn by Jay Harding, Matt L'argent and Adam Edgerley. Last season's top goalscorer Jay Walker takes number 7, worn by Jack Thomas and James Naik, who vacated the number to return to 23. Ryan Muir moves to number 8, which had been previously worn by former club captain Darrell Rees and all-time legend Chris Townsend.

The new number 9, James Phillips has to follow in the goalscoring footsteps of Ross Pope, James Peate and Ryan Muir, who contributed 17 goals between them while wearing the shirt, while club favourite Ben Court has also worn it. The most scored-in shirt is number 10 which will be worn by Dan Johnson this season. The number 10 had been scored-in 25 times by Lewis Wright, James Peate, Hywel Williams. The second most scored-in shirt is number 11, having been worn by the club's oldest ever player and former captain Gareth Harvey, and Jay Walker. Danny Shaw regains the number after a year away on loan at Arcelona.
