Webster signs attacking trio

We Hate Ben today announced the captures of three players, after they left their former ADL clubs and signed deals with the club. The trio are all attacking players and have been brought in to help ease the blow of losing the likes of Dave Turvill, Adam Grosvenor and Ian Hanmore-Farrugia.

The first of the three is former Inter Yournan forward Phil Bridgman, who scored a brace of goals against WHB in last seasons Super League fixture. The big, bustling centre-forward scored several goals last season and is a direct replacement for Turvill, bringing strength and power to the team and could be a perfect foil for Jay Walker. Bridgman is also fantastic in the air and will be a big bonus at set-pieces. The signing is quite a coup for the WHB since Inter Yournan managed to win the ADL Plate last season, but Bridgman wanted to leave after becoming disenchanted with the atmosphere at the club.

The second signing is from rivals Arcelona, 19-year-old forward Jordan Watkins. Brought to the attention of Webster by chief scout Rhys Jones, Watkins is an exciting player who can play as a striker or on the wings. He is creative and can provide assists, doing so several times for Arcelona last season.

The third signing is former Naked Wednesday AUC forward James Phillips. The 19-year-old Canadian wasn't part of the team that were demolished 8-0 by WHB last season, but was a big part of their improving performances later on in the year. He is the second player brought to the attention of Webster by the scouting network. He is known to be extemely quick and hard-working and will be a great addition to the team.

All three signings will report to preseason training in September and will meet their new teammates. Webster is also believed to have drawn up a list of trialists who will also be invited to training. These players will be announced in the coming weeks. Webster said "I am very pleased to have got these players on board and am very happy with our progress so far. The scouting team are doing a fantastic job finding quality players for me and that is all I can ask for. As for these three players, Phil Bridgman is someone I know very well having played against him and I am very pleased to have got him. Jordon Watkins and James Phillips were recommended to me by Rhys Jones and I fully believe they will be fantastic additions to the club."
